Separate intended seeds from unwanted carryover
A seeded-pulp ingredient has a different target from a seed-free juice. The specification should state seed condition and distribution, pulp consistency and unwanted shell material. Opening and collection still need to keep shells separate; intentional seeds do not make shell carryover acceptable.
A separation setting developed for seed-free juice may remove the inclusion the customer wants. Evaluate the route with the intended fruit supply and finished sample. Define where the product is sampled so results taken immediately after collection are not confused with results after pumping or treatment.
| Decision | Selection basis |
|---|---|
| Seeds | Required inclusion, integrity and distribution |
| Pulp | Texture, viscosity and suspended material |
| Rejects | Shell material and other unwanted inclusions |
Assess the complete passage through pumps and valves
The product must pass through transfer pumps, valves and downstream equipment in its actual seeded condition. Pump selection uses flow, viscosity, solids and pressure duty. The clearances and operating conditions need to accommodate the specified material rather than an assumed seed-free liquid.
Buffering should support continuity without creating unnecessary holding or air entry. Record inlet and outlet levels, transfer conditions and the operating schedule. Seed distribution should be checked after the relevant handling operations, especially when consistency changes during a run.
Confirm treatment and the package passage together
The thermal circuit, holding section and filling interface need to suit the product with its intended inclusions. Select them using the actual product flow and the validated treatment required for that ingredient. A generic juice flow is not a substitute for the seeded-pulp condition.
For a bulk bag route, confirm the fitment, fill head and the product conditions at the filler inlet. For another packaging or cold-storage route, describe that requirement explicitly. The equipment shown on this site does not by itself define every packaging or storage configuration.

Questions about this stage
Can a seed-free juice setting be reused for seeded pulp?
It requires reassessment. Separation may remove the desired seeds, while pumps, valves, heating passages and the package interface must all suit the seeded product.
