Product and equipment selection

Seed-Free Passion Fruit Juice Processing Equipment

Select a juice route by the material you receive and the seed, pulp and packaging specification you need to achieve.

Whole fruit and extracted juice need different front ends

A whole-fruit supply needs reception, washing, inspection and an opening operation that separates the shell from collected seed-pulp. A finisher receives material after that opening step. Sending intact fruit to a pulp-finishing assembly combines two duties that the equipment selection needs to keep separate.

If prepared juice is purchased, record what separation has already been completed. The remaining line may need liquid buffering, product treatment and filling rather than a second fruit-preparation section. Check representative incoming samples against the finished-ingredient requirement.

Agree what seed-free means for the buyer

The specification should distinguish intact seeds, broken seed fragments, shell specks and suspended pulp. Removing seeds does not define juice texture or soluble solids. Write down the sampling method and the permitted inclusions before discussing a screen size.

Use the same fruit lot and operating interval to compare recovered product and reject streams. A higher recovered flow may carry more unwanted material; recovery and the agreed product specification should be evaluated together. A general machine-family rating is not a confirmed passion fruit output.

Match transfer and treatment to the finished liquid

Buffer volume and transfer pumps follow liquid flow, viscosity, solids and the next process inlet. Air entry at collection or transfer should be addressed before selecting a vacuum deaerator. Deaeration and evaporation have different purposes and should not be substituted for one another.

The thermal system and packaging route depend on the product specification and storage plan. Include the product inlet conditions and the package interface in the enquiry. The presence of a thermal skid or an aseptic filler alone does not establish a finished shelf life.

Questions about this stage

Does seed-free juice require the smallest available screen?

Not automatically. The screen is evaluated with actual feed, mechanical action and the required pulp content. Seed fragments and product recovery must be checked alongside texture.
